Leaving a legacy

What is a gift in Will?

It is simply a gift which is outlined in a Will, these gifts are also known as bequests.
Gifts in Wills have played an important role in the history of the school and we are deeply grateful to each benefactor.

Trinity Grammar has provided young men from diverse backgrounds with an education characterised by justice, faith, community, hard work and excellence. Generations of boys have grown to become men whose lives, values, and characters have been shaped by the staff, facilities and opportunities here at the School. For many Old Boys and for families and friends, a gift in your Will is the easiest way to make a lasting impact on the School, supporting the education of young men who are yet to come. It is a continued investment in the future.

Each and every benefactor who has left a gift in their Will has shaped the future of Trinity. We are grateful for their generosity, fueled by affection and appreciation for what Trinity Grammar School has brought to them in their lifetime, and a willingness to extend that impact.

Advising the School of your bequest enables us to thank you and keep you updated on the most current developments at the School. It also helps the School in its planning for the future.

How do I leave a gift in my Will?

The School is not authorised to provide legal advice. Once you have made your Will, it is important to review it every few years or as circumstances change. We recommend you seek professional advice from a qualified legal adviser to ensure your wishes are recorded in a legally binding manner.

What if I already have a Will?

If you have an up-to-date Will, you can add a codicil to include a gift to Trinity Grammar School – this is a simple and inexpensive procedure.

TGS Founders Society

The TGS Founders Society is a newly established community to honour those who have left a Gift in their Will to Trinity Grammar School.

The founder of Trinity Grammar School, Rev. George A Chambers, opened the School in 1913 with this vision”

“Some day in the future, when the dreams of the present have been realised, and Trinity has at last been established as the great school of our visions …we can imagine our descendants looking back on this period, and speaking with proud memory of those daring ones who, by breadth of vision and a faith of the kind that overcame the world…”  (1924)

In 2023, we too have a vision that in the future this will be looked back at as an imperative program that sustains and enhances Trinity Grammar School, changing the life of each student that walks through the gates.
